Welcome to my Website!

This will be used for me to catalogue information about a number of projects and interests in my life. To start off, it will be used to track my "Consume all my media" challenge for the next couple of years. Like a lot of nerds, I tend to accumulate stuff faster than I can actually read or play it. Board gamers are familiar with the term "shelf of shame".

Well, today this will change. Or so I hope. I do not buy physical media for movies and TV, so I do not have a back log there and I do not really care about unplayed digital games, as video games are not much of a hobby of mine any longer. What I do care about is my board games, RPG's and miniatures games, as well as my collection of military history books.

So the plan is simple (as all foolhardy ventures are): Take stock of what I own and then proceed to systematically play all of it and read all of it. It does not matter if I have done so previously. After all if the game is good enough to keep, it is surely good enough to play again. Additionally, some of them has been years since I played them last. For the military history collection, you always learn a lot from a second read of a book, so that won't hurt at all either.
Over time, I will create sub pages for each category below so I can list things as they get completed (and keep a running record of how much is left to go).

Board Games

This one is easy enough. If it is on my shelf, it gets a play. For game series (Squad Leader, Panzer Grenadier) I am going to treat each box as a game, so since I own three Panzer Grenadier box sets, that is three plays. For scenario based games I am fine with a single play to "count" as being off the list.
The format doesn't matter here. Some plays will be in person, some will be on VASSAL. Some will be with a friend and some will be solo. If it got played, it got played.

Board Games sub challenge

As a separate challenge, I would like to be able to say that I have played every Squad Leader, ASL and Der Weltkrieg scenario (main modules only for ASL, I am only human).

Role Playing Games

RPG's are a little different because they are rarely intended for single session games (some indie games are, but I don't think I own any such game in print), so 3 sessions seems like a good number to say we have "played" the game.
PDF only games do NOT count, unless I have had a copy printed out. I have a few games that I bought in PDF and then had a spiral bound copy printed through a print service (printme1 in the US if you are looking for one). These do count. The only thing I am not including is two Japanese RPG books that I cannot read and only purchased to have as souvenirs.

Miniatures Games

Again PDF only games do not count unless I have had a copy printed out. As a miniatures game is a bit of a different beast and some of the games I own, I will need to paint new figures, I am looking to do 3 plays of each game before it is checked off the list.

Military History books

As above, physical copies only. Easy enough, read the book and check it off the list. There are a couple of reference and data books that I won't have to read as such. Here I will do a deep dive into the data and information instead.
